How is a sofa constructed—and what exactly supports us when we sit or lie on it? In this workshop, we take a look behind the upholstery: What is the structure inside? What materials ensure that a sofa is stable and comfortable at the same time?
We talk about how a sofa is constructed—from the supporting frame to the soft surface—and what it takes to fulfill its purpose.
Afterwards, we will put our own ideas into practice:
What would the ideal sofa look like? What shapes, functions, or details make it special?
Using materials such as wooden sticks, modeling clay, cotton wool, and imitation leather, everyone will design their own small sofa model. Whether classic or completely unusual – anything goes.
