Concert Michaela Melián Trio
27. March 2026, 19:00
St. Petri zu Lübeck

The music of Michaela Melián resists classification according to binary distinctions: high and low culture, classical tradition and pop, analog and digital, male and female. Similar to her multimedia spatial installations, her music unfolds a multitude of layers of meaning, historical references, and possible interpretations. Together with Ruth May on violin and Elen Harutyunyan on viola, she creates fascinating, meandering, loop-like, and almost hypnotic soundscapes in concert.
Michaela Melián, artist and musician, is a founding member of the band Freiwillige Selbstkontrolle. From 2010 to 2023, she held a professorship in Time-Based Media at the HFBK Hamburg. The concert takes place as part of her exhibition ECHO at the Overbeck-Gesellschaft and St. Petri zu Lübeck.
Latest release: Michaela Melián, Music for a While, 2025, published by a-Musik.

Please note that the concert begins at 7:00 PM, not at 6:00 PM as stated on the invitation card.
The concert is free of charge. No registration is required.
