Cordula Ditz was the bassist for the riot grrrl band Parole Trixi (2001–2004), which attracted attention with its mix of punk and avant-garde. Their song “Seid gegrüßt!” (“Greetings!”) was regularly played on Viva and Viva Plus – a clear statement against stereotypical images of women. The album “Die Definition von Süß” (The Definition of Sweet) was released on Alfred Hilsberg’s label What’s So Funny About, with a guest appearance by Dirk von Lowtzow (Tocotronic) on the song “Mutter” (Mother).
In her current project PAROLE TRIXI, Ditz talks about music, artistic processes, and the culture of remembrance. She shares her experiences from the Hamburg music scene of the 1990s and shows how this period shaped her later artistic practice. As a versatile artist, she works with installation, painting, collage, video, sculpture, performance, and music. In doing so, she questions gender roles and media stereotypes and invites the audience to reflect on collective memory: How is it created, how is it manipulated—and how can it be preserved? The focus is often on women* and marginalized voices in history and culture. The audience included intergenerational women from Lübeck who are important representatives of the cultural scene, including employees of Lübeck’s museums, the board of trustees of the Kulturkirche St. Petri, and volunteers from the Kunstverein.
